I want to clone my ssd (PNY) to a samsung ssd 850. So I installed their magician software but it doesn't support my ssd .
Now I see that I have a recovery partition onmy ssd (447 MB). How it came there I don't remember.
Can i get rid off this partition without causing problems ?
Another good program for cloning ?

Solution

That will work just fine.

1. Cloning to a Samsung drive, the Samsung Data Migration tool will absolutely work.
2. No, you can't delete that partition

For a successful clone operation, do this.
-----------------------------
Verify the actual used space on the current drive is significantly below the size of the new SSD
Download and install Macrium Reflect (or Samsung Data Migration, if a Samsung SSD)
Power off
Disconnect ALL drives except the current C and the new SSD
Power up
Run the Macrium Reflect (or Samsung Data Migration)
Select ALL the partitions on the existing C drive
Click the 'Clone' button
Wait until it is done
When it finishes, power off
Disconnect ALL drives except for the new SSD
Swap the SATA cables around so that the new drive is connected to the same SATA port as the old drive
Power up, and verify the BIOS boot order
If good, continue the power up

It should boot from the new drive, just like the old drive.
Maybe reboot a time or two, just to make sure.

If it works, and it should, all is good.

Later, reconnect the old drive and wipe as necessary.
Delete the original boot partitions, here:

This program should make short work of the cloning operation.

There are 2 ways you use this.. Disk Backup and Restore but i would suggest Disk Clone..

Disk Clone would copy everything exactly from 1 disk to another but the backup and restore option is better if you have a secondary storage.

How to clone with both drives connected.
1: Install the software.. its free.
2: Use Disk Clone to copy Disk 1 to Disk 2.

Once all is done either remove the old drive or change settings in your BIOS to use your new drive as primary boot.

I would also suggest a backup of your OS to helps with accidents in the future. You should be able to backup to your HD.

I run the program and it says .no support ( for the resource ssd :)

But still I read in the manual ; if you have instant pc recovery software installed on your system this software may not function properly.
Do they mean something like AMOE backupper ? I think the third partition comes from that program !

Uninstall that AOMEI thing.
Do the steps above.
