Are you asking how to close or are you asking why the port is closed?
What is the exact model? did you read the manual?

Hello, thank you for a prompt reply.
I recently purchased a refurb Lenovo TinkPad w windows 10 pro.
I added Avast Premium for security.
Avast found port 7547 open..on Xfinity account I See I have an Arris TG1682G. I could port forward etc. But as I plan to use this Computer for business purposes, I need the security .
do not have my own hardware router yet, but want to close this port.

I'm having the same issue. Avast says having port 7547 open creates "needlessly large attack surface," and I'd like to follow their suggestion and close it. I just can't figure out how.

look like it for comcast to connect to the modem, if you don't want that buy your own modem instead of renting. Save you $ in the long run

Does that imply the Arris DG1670A software doesn't allow us to modify which ports are open or closed? I'm with Spectrum/Time Warner, btw.
