Can you test functionality without installation? Does it need to be installed in order to be able to determine proper function or can it be done stand-alone? CORSAIR H100i v2

IIRC, the H100i V2 uses a Fan/Pump header for power and not SATA?

In that case, it would need to be installed (or at least connected) to the motherboard.... at that point, it may aswell be mounted on the CPU (as you'll need something installed anyway).

Why would you want to test before install, out of curiosity?

I have a clothes iron and bought the cooling system used off ebay. I want to test for leaks and flow rate before installing. Is this possible?

Are you just wanting to see if 'the liquid cooler has leaks'? Jumper an ATX power supply and connect it, see if you find leaks.

But in all seriousness - the cooler should not leak and should be apparent if it has leaked by the indication of sticky droplets anywhere in the packaging and a smell of glycol coolant. Otherwise, you're one of the only 0.001% who leak tests a closed loop cooler out of the box.
