I got an AOC AG271QX Agon 27-inch

I read the review article - which didn't mention something important.

ARTICLE CLOSED, closed too soon.

I saw just several forum comments - the comments were almost all negative or misleading (ie, if freesync is needed by this monitor to prevent shearing: NO).

So seeing that (that there were not many comments), and that these monitors are still on display in stores: I figure I should be able to leave a positive and informational comment to "combat the trolling" and help somone looking for real purchase information.

((I wanted to leave a comment on what reviewer left out: the enclosure of this monitor is sturdy and looks great and vesa-mountable too. 144MHz is a plus for sliding windows (not true 144 as has some ghosting, but is way better than 60Hz). But contrast ratio is a problem and "dynamic contrast ratio is pure <mod edit>". It has good NATIVE contrast ratio but Definitely Not Great (ie, like Apple's 1300:1 native): this means text is not quite as easily read and pictures don't have their _maximum "pop". Also, for settings (mentioned in article): the default setting is a bug because 50:contrast digitally erases pixels (it washes out detail badly): if set at 44 not 50: fine details are restored - and brightness doesn't seem to effect detail at all - it is bright definitely 350. finally if your gaming and your card can go over 60hz on the game (many cards these day can): you definitely need to have a monitor that can go over 60hz to get the benefit of smooth panning and sliding graphics in games.))

but ARTICLE CLOSE

QUESTION:

my question here is that review articles for products on the shelf shouldn't be closed (unless there are many many comments). also - product info that gets fingers down should either be removed or not counted in when "feedback for a product" gets closed. i'm not arguing for "no closure ever" but at least don't close articles when only trolls have submitted attack ads on it, right?

there's got to be something better than one person leaves an officionado article, several comment total bull, and no one else is allowed to comment.

if articles are going to help a potential buyer buy there's got to be a better way than CLOSING by (how is it done? by time?)

Well you are new here. It is standard protocol for a lot of websites out there, not even tech related, to close comments after a certain amount of time. They do not have the bandwidth to keep all article comments up forever and moderate them. And the fact this monitor is still available ten months after the review is irrelevant. There are reviews of four year old monitor models out there that can still be bought. If you want to leave a positive note on the monitor, leave a review on Etailer sites like NewEgg and Amazon. Or wherever you bought the monitor if they allow reviews.
