Closed vs Custom Loops

If you were to build a loop just for the CPU, using a rad with the same dimensions and similar fans, would you get an improvement, I would have thought not, but feel I am wrong.

Maybe if you had more fluid, as the temps would disperse in the reservoir, but even with a unneededly large res. it would still be minimal I think. Not to mention the Size increase, honestly just for a CPU unless you want something like a Super thick 240MM or 360MM+ Radiator, I think the AIO would be the better choice.

I'm not planning on doing this, I was just curious, perfectly happy to get a H100i, just got bored making an ITX build list and was thinking about liquid cooling, there are no blocks for my GPU so it would just be a CPU loop
