I don't get why people use cloudflare. Slows down your website when it's supposed to make it faster.

I don't get why people use cloudflare. Slows down your website when it's supposed to make it faster.

I've primarily seen it used for DDoS protection for small sites, blogs, etc - for those unable to provide such protection themselves. Better to cost a user a couple of seconds than to have the site go down completely.
