Can I cast a riptide replicator, set it to produce creature
type "locus", and have my cloudposts produce more mana
based on the number of creatures I produce with the replicator?

Riptide Replicator
{X}{4}
Artifact
As Riptide Replicator comes into play, choose a color and a creature type.
Riptide Replicator comes into play with X charge counters on it.
{4}, {T}: Put an X/X creature token of the chosen color and type into
play, where X is the number of charge counters on Riptide Replicator.

Cloudpost
Land -- Locus
Cloudpost comes into play tapped.
{T}: Add {1} to your mana pool for each Locus in play.

Thanks!

No, because "locus", like "forest" or "urza's", is NOT a creature type. It is
a land type.

If it asked you to choose a land type, then you could choose "locus". But in
that case you could not choose "beast" or "marid" or "human".

No, "locus" is not a valid creature type.

No, Locus isn't a creature type, it's a land type. You have to choose a
type that has actually appeared on a creature in Magic at some point in
its history (and hasn't been errataed out of existence in Oracle since).

No. Locus isn't a creature type, although it is a land type.
