We are talking a $9 dollar difference.

B) Cooler

Agreed. I have the 212 on several systems (from i5, i7 and Xeons) and they all stay within the 40s under load.
And it has the bonus of not keeping you up at night wondering if tonight will be the night that one of those hoses burst and spray your system with antifreeze.

I have the same processor and an evo 212. After applying the thermal paste correctly (put too much the first time), I now idle around 35c, and on full loads get in the mid 70s. The only thing I ever hear during gaming or video editing is the hard drive 🙁

Evo 212 is solid in my experience.
