Hello guys,
I've been researching fans for my new build and every day I come across new info that confuses me further. I know that Static Pressure fans are good for radiators and such.
So I was planning on getting the SP120 Quiet Editions which list their specs as:-
Package Quantity Twin Pack
Speed 1650 RPM
Sound Level 26.4 dBA
Power Draw 0.26 A
Static Pressure 1.46 mmH20
Fan Airflow 57.24 CFM
But then I found the CM JetFlo 120mm fans which are airflow optimized and specs are:
Model R4-JFDP-20PR-R1
LED Color Red
Dimensions 120 x 120 x 25 mm / 4.7 x 4.7 x 1 inch
Fan Speed 800-2000 RPM (PWM) ± 10%; w/ silent adapter: 1600/1200 RPM (fixed)
Air Flow 95 CFM ± 10%
Air Pressure 2.72 mmH2O ± 10%
Life Expectancy 160,000 hrs
Noise Level 19 dBA (1200 RPM with included silent mode adapter)
28 dBA (1600 RPM with included silent mode adapter)
12-36 dBA (PWM)
Bearing Type POM Bearing - CM 4th Gen. bearing (*POM: Polyoxymethelene)
Connector 4-Pin (PWM)
Voltage 12 VDC
Current 0.4A
Power Consumption 4.8W
So how can an airflow optimized fan have more static pressure (2.72mmH20 vs 1.46mmH2O) than a static pressure optimized fan?
I want to buy fans that have high static pressure, noise is not a very big consideration. I cannot buy the SP120 Performance Edition which have more pressure than the JetFlo's because they aren't available where I am.
So considering these facts and given the choice between the above 2 fans would it make a better choice for me to go with JetFlo 120s if I want to mount them on radiators even though they are airflow optimized?
