Hi!
I recently bought the Cooler Master Storm Recon:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826570020&Tpk=cm%20storm%20recon

It works great, but there's one problem. I installed the software from the Cooler Master website. I used it to change the colors of the LEDs. After I applied the settings, the mouse just stopped working. The lights worked, but it wouldn't move the cursor. The only way I got the cursor to move was to put the mouse on my shorts  The mouse won't respond on any other surface but my shorts. I used a mouse pad and I put the mouse on several different surfaces. The mouse works fine on the default settings.
Any ideas?

Hey MrBoomBoom,

First things first: as you posted the problem more then 3 months ago -> r you still having the same problem? If so:
I work for CM, so I will check what the problem could be. As far as i know you are the first one with this problem, which means we need to do some research :).

Wow... THANK YOU FOR YOUR RESPONSE 😀
anyway I do still have the problem. I try to change the colors of the LEDs and the mouse just refuses to work on my desk.

I would, but no thanks. I'm only 14 and i don't have the money to send something back in the mail. Anyways, thanks :3
I think I could live with the default color scheme.
It's a great mouse BTW.

You do realize that i opened this about 2 months ago, right XD
Anyway, I figured out it was the surface I had it on.

Yeah, but i just had the exact same problem with mine and the solution provided by CM Gert was - excuse me - pure bullshit.

Also i solved it without changing surface. I have no idea what the default profile is about, but on any custom profile it didn't work.
Up until i set the LOD to 5 instead of 3. Which makes perfect sense, LOD means Lift Off DIstance, and depending on your surface the LOD is higher or lower. Softer surfaces let your mouse sink into them, lowering the LOD. Hard surfaces like a regular table require a higher LOD.

Thanks Phrewfuf it helps 😀
