Question CMOS battery

Does removing the CMOS battery from a laptop not reset the bios password, etc anymore? I have a Lenovo V130, removed it without a problem, an hour later it's still looking for those passwords (there's 2, once which I remember, not the BIOS one of course!) I'm trying to download the manual somewhere to see if there are additional jumpers that could be shorted.
Any advice much appreciated.

go into bios to reset it.
there is forum rule about password.

Can't get into bios. That's my problem....
