CMOS Checksum error

I just wanted to know what the usual cause of this error is...

Is it a dying battery or a dying CMOS chip?

In my case the BIOS was actually corrupted and I had to send the chip out to <A HREF="http://www.freewebs.com/tmod/index.htm" target="_new">Tmod</A> to be reprogrammed. I'll let you know how that worked out when I get my BIOS chip back probably tomorrow.

Hopefully you have a BIOS rescue disk. You'll have to default, re-flash and boot-up. Shut down again and default. Your newly flashed BIOS should now become your default. Boot-up again and see if errors have ceased.
