CMOS has four bars/grips

Hello all! I'm new to the forums and finally have given in to going to others for help. I hope that we can all learn more about computers together. To the point: My CMOS battery is held down by 4 bars. I have been unable to find any discernable way of removing the battery. My last option is to fully remove my MOBO and check the back for a screw. Also, I have read a couple of posts about not running the cpu without a heatsink in place. My question is: Will just running the BIOS cause an overabundance of heat?

The CPU will produce enough heat when idle to warm up, and, given that there is no cooling, should climb until it is burning to the touch. This applies only to high-power CPUs. Many are designed to naturally run without any active cooling at all, and some even without a heatsink. (Laptop, mobile, tablet chips) The processor should auto shutdown if it gets too hot, but don't rely on this. If your computer runs with a weak cooler or even passive heatsink, you are totally fine. If it requires something beefier, you may want to make sure you position a desk fan to blow on the motherboard while you look at it. Make a test run first to make sure it isn't burning/ very hot to the touch, if it makes you recoil, stop immediately. Good luck.
