[SOLVED] CMOS Reset from Removing CPU for Cleaning?

I removed my CPU to clean it and apply new thermal paste.

The cpu was removed for about 20 minutes.

When I re-inserted the cpu, I got a message saying the CMOS has been reset and I had to apply all my settings again.

Is this normal?

I'm only seeing this post now as I had the same thing happen to me a few days ago. It must be the volatile memory on the board once the cpu is removed for cleaning then it is reset upon rebooting.
