.co.uk redirect - it blows goats

Why does every request from a en-GB or a UK "ip" (note, your DB isnt 100% correct) always get redirected to the .co.uk site? At the moment, http://www.tomshardware.com/2006/09/18/welcome_toms_10k_pc/
redirects to a 404 as it gets redirected to http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/2006/09/18/welcome_toms_10k_pc/ where the article doesnt exist.
