Coax Wiring: Using an Outlet vs. One Single Cable

Hello,

In advance, please forgive me for my weak technical vocabulary. This is my first time ever working with outlets, coax cables, or general wiring of the house.

This is sort of a "truth or false" question:

I have just routed a coax cable from my Bright House cable box to my upstairs bedroom so that I could attain a faster internet speed by connecting it to my computer directly via ethernet cable.

I have not yet installed an outlet; the cable currently runs directly from my cable box downstairs, up to my window upstairs.

Here is my "true or false" question:

I read somewhere that a direct connection to the modem (Cable box -> Modem) would be faster/more reliable than a setup with an outlet. (Cable box -> Outlet -> Modem)

Again, I am sorry for the perhaps "simpleton" question.

Thank you!

On a run that short & as far as your wiring & outlet socket are up to scratch its going to make no difference whatsoever mate.
I'd fit a wall socket personally ,its far neater looking .
