Hi all,

I need to extend my coaxial cabling so I can relocate the internet modem to the other corner of the room.
From the wall, the incoming cable is a male connector.

I recently received a 20 ft male-to-male coaxial cable from my ISP.
I was wondering if I should purchase a coupler or an extension (female to male cable)

Ultimately, I'd like to reduce the DB loss when adding the extending cable. Upon some research, there are different color couplers and I don't know which is best for loss reduction.

Thanks!

The color of the coupler does not indicate loss or quality, although the blue coax couplers seem popular with better manufacturers. I tend to stay away from gold colored fittings with clear inserts. Department stores will probably not carry good connectors. You'll likely find better ones from an electronics retailer or from a reputable online source.
