So, I'm setting up cable for my router in my basement. I already have working cable , but I'm setting up new stuff in my basement. So, everything is wired up, all I need to do is put and F type on the end of the cable and that's it. So, when putting it on the rg6 cable, does the plastic need to be flush with the end of the hole, or can it be about half way? The ends I got said they're just push on and they don't need any termination tools, but I can't seem to push them on all the way so my wife makes i out of the hole out the plastic outside is only about halfway up to the top of the hole. I can't seem to get my cable working and I don't know if I need to cut back more wire since it's old and you should never trust the end of your wire, or
If it's something I need to do on the end of the cable.

Solution
I've found not all F connectors are the same, there is a little "art" involved in connecting these things. No tool? sounds too easy but oh well, watch that video and try it out.
