I purchased COD AW and after a littl;e while the game will turn off my pc. I am not sure if this is a PSU, GPU, or Ram problem. It will even shut down my pc if i run it in safe mode or on the lowest settings. I updated my GPU to the latest drivers and still the same thing occurs. I should note that all of my other games run fine. IT is only the COD game that does this. I asked a buddy who purchased the game and he says it runs fine on his system.

Are there any hardware tests I can use to check each component?

My specs
AMD 8350 with Noctura NHD-14
Asus M5A99x
GTX 670
2x4gb Kingston Hyper X Genesis 1600 Ram ( blue 1.65v)
Xclio Great Power 750w PSU

Thanks

I've never heard of xclio PSUs, so I can't vouch for quality of those units I'm afraid, but yes, a bad PSU could very well be the reason.

What's bugging me (at least with the OP's system), is that whopping 1.65v on the RAM sticks.
AFAIK, anything advertising a stock frequency of 1866mhz and under shouldn't require more than 1.5v, indicating bad constructive or component quality when not staying under that value...
If you can, try a different set of 1.5v sticks.

In any case, for everyone, please state your system specs (OP excluded) and your CPU/GPU temperatures during gameplay.

Did you overclock your cpu or gpu?

my pc shuts down when initializing any kind of gameplay, even in safe mode, ive got a
295x2
amd 8350
windows 8.1 on ssd
game on steam library hard drive
pissed off, would expect a £600 gpu to cope with that :-(

I have the same problem
Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit
AMD FX-8350
16,0GB Dual-Channel DDR3
3072MB ATI AMD Radeon R9 280

It is the only game that I have ever tried this.
Maybe i can play one match, and then it reboots my PC 🙁

I've been bugged with this problem for a few months now.....but I think I've cracked the answer.
My monitors refresh rates are 60hz.......Call of Duty AW has a refresh rate of 75hz and it's this which is causing the reboots.
To cure the problem go into the game and then Options.

Then go to Video Options and select Advanced Video.........change the refresh rate to the correct refresh rate for your monitors, I used the program Speccy from Piriform to tell me mine (it's free).
I've not had a reboot within game since changing this setting and everything is maxed out. :)

Hey there,
We've come across what we believe to be a cause and possible solution for users On a PC that have the AMD Radeon R9 290 or 390 GPU and experiencing this crash.
1. Launch the CallofDuty:Advanced Warfare Multiplayer executable
2. Enter Advanced Video Settings options menu.
3. Scroll down and locate the "Cache Spot Shadow Maps" option, and toggle it OFF

This should resolve the crash.

We are currently looking into this matter and have submitted the issue to AMD for further review as it appears to be specific to these specific models.

Hope this helps

Angshuman, I reliviated my problem by installing an aftermarket cooler on my processor. The stock one on the FX 8320 is not string enough to keep it cool. I replaced with a Hyper 212 Evo and have had no temperature issues at all. If you want to determine if your computer is overheating, download Speccy and run the game for some time, then check the Speccy temperatures. My CPU was getting over 170 degrees F which is very bad and was leasing to shut downs. After replacing the cooler, my Temps are way cooler, around 120ish when gaming for some time.
