Might not be the most popular opinion. But I liked Spearhead and Breakthrough better than the original MOHAA. Together the 3 took up a huge chunk of my gaming time for ages.

COD expansion sounds promising to me.

I'm still waiting for Medal of Honor Pacific Assault. Still expected June 30th as of now, but man I was dumb enough to preorder that from EBGames back in October/November. If they push it off again, I'll be quite disgusted.

IMO, Spearhead sucked big time and Breakthrough was OK, but nowhere near original MOHAA

I can't play MP (*blames 33.6k dial-up*)

Does it have decent single player missions?

Do you really have 33.6k dial-up? Oh poor dude.

No wonder you didn't like Spearhead. The singleplayer was good, but the multiplayer was great.

I would give Spearhead single player 45 out of 100.

I finished it ~85%, but never compelted it 100%. The section where I have to shoot a plane down with AA gun is the worst section of the game. (in fact, one of the hardest in any 1st/3rd person game I've ever played)

Also using morter to take out 6-8 tanks gets also very hard in MOHAA: Breakthrough.

I've got used to this kind of speed. Broadband is not available and no dial-up is faster than 33.6k (possibly due to crappy phone lines). It may surprise you, here most of the ISPs have only 2 to 4 mbps bandwidth!

My biggest download with 33.6k was 700 MB Knoppix ISO

Wow, 700MB download. Using a download manager I take it, either that or no disconnects for a few weeks :)

Spearhead: My biggest gripe about single player was how short it was.

Did you ever enable the framerate counter to see your fps. That spot you mentioned is one of the laggiest in the game. A buddy of mine witha PIII500/GF2 was getting like 5fps lows in that section... which made him not get through it. Yet on my system, he breezed through it. needless to say, I built him an XP1800+/GF4Ti4200 and he became a serious weapon in multiplayer after breezing through the singleplayer. Made a big difference on a better system. Your system is way above his old one, but I found a K7S5A/Duron 950/256MB DDR/ GF2Ti to be very slow for Spearhead. Playable, but still too laggy to enjoy with lows below 20fps.

ANyway, if your fps stayed above 25, that part shouldn't be too hard. Yet, yes Spearhead started off about as hard as MOHAA finished, and then got harder from there. Was the hard sniper mission in Spearhead or Breakthrough? That was a harder spot for me and I love to snipe. Step in front of a window and bam, dead. Some snipers took me 3-4 deaths to figure out where they were hiding.

And sorry for going off on MOHAA in your COD thread. Both 2 of my favorite games.

The "aircraft shooting with AA gun" mission was performing at playable fps. I forgot the exact number. The real problem was defining the route of the plane and shooting it down.

In CoD, aircraft shooting at airfield was much easier. though the FPS was very jerky with my Duron (max detail + max corpse). I used an AXP 1700+ @ 1800+ for few days in my system, and the mission was much more playable.
