I connected a USB mic which caused a USB power surge. I have a TP Link wireless USB adapter and it immediately turned off as the power surge caused power to cut off for this adapter. I restarted the PC however the adapter wasn't working anymore. I reinstalled the drivers but after that it just shows a Code 56 (Windows is still setting up the class configuration for this device) error in device manager. The TP Link adapter and its drivers work on my HP Stream Laptop however. I've tried network reset, I don't have a VPN, and I'm really at a loss of ideas now. Help would be appreciated!

I've tried different USB ports, even a USB hub but to no avail. My PSU is from an OEM HP PSU, the PC is an HP Compaq Elite Microtower 8200 (the big one with 4 USB ports on the front)
