I'm having an issue with you tube in windows 10 with html 5 and in Micrososft edge that uses Adobe flash. I can hear sound out of my fron't 2 speakers but not my rear speakers. I have a gigabyte z77xud5h Motherboard i7 inetl 3rd gen processor 32 gigs memory. I have a onboard realtek Sound card latest drivers I can run anything in windows 10 with various players and get sound out of all 4 speakers but not when I'm online watching videos and not just in you tune either metcafe and other video sites as well. I'm not sure if this is the right section for me to be posting in but I did not see anything for sound. Yes it happens with Google chrome and Firefox also. Doesn't matter what browser I use. Only get sound from the fron't 2 Klipsch 4.1 speakers on my custom built desktop est 2010

Solution

As stated, the issue is actually with you, not the setup. A 2 channel output like youtube will cause the speakers to output to only the left and right speakers because that's the entire point. To output to all speakers, you have to override the default mixing parameters to mix 5.1 audio (with 3 empty channels) into just 2 channels, and then mix back out to 5.1 for your speakers. Windows 7 was NOT working, rather it was malfunctioning in a way that you preferred.

The youtube Flash player...
Youtube only has 2 channel audio, so of course you'll get output from only two speakers. They are working as intended

If you want all the speakers to output sound, you'll need to either mix or virtualize, both which can be done in your driver settings if the driver supports it.

I have that Done. In the driver settings I have Virtulization enabled and fill in, quadraphonic sound, fron't left fron't right, and surround sound all checked. I said in my original post I believe, that everything I play on various players in windows 10 I can get out of all 4 speakers it's just that when I go online and go to you tube or different video sites Like metcafe I believe and sites Like these I can only get sound out of 2 speakers the fron't 2. So the onboard realtek is working as it should. I just feel that I need a code for you tube and other video sites. can you maybe help me find one I would really appreciate this!!

NEVER INSTALL CODECS FOR YOUTUBE OR OTHER WEBSITES

No modern web browsers need any codecs for playing HTML5 video formats.

This might actually be a case of the opposite occurring, that is that the web site output is being pre-mixed into 5.1 audio, with three channels being empty instead of mixed. If your browser supports disabling mixing, you should try that (chrome should support it, as well as firefox)

The problem is with html 5 anyone that has html5 installed with you tube and wants to get sound out of all 4 speakers if they are using a desktop witha 4 speaker system look for a addon in google chrom or the maxthon web browser which is what I use actually I use both and it will be to revert back to adobe flash player and that fixed the issue for me.so yes you can get sound from all 4 speakers with you tube. Does anyone on here ever say I stand corrected on anything. Wow!! In windows 7 it worked anyways. without the addon

The youtube Flash player does in fact premix the 2 channel video to the channel count of your output, so that's an option.

Solution

Yeah It might not be true surround sound as I only have 4.1 speakers and not a 5.1 speaker system all I know is all the you tube videos that I have played for about a week now have played out of all 4 speakers so I'm happy
😉

I will have to figure out how to do this. I'm not sure how to do the remixing.
