Check yer email, folks. I got my 7AE codes in the mail last
night.

I'm a little torn on what to chose. I have the hearth, helm, and
some orange pants so far, and one code to go.

The weapons don't impress me, and I'm not a melee fighter in any
case. I've seen the tapestry, and it was a let down. How do the
roses stack up as a decco?

Well, I certainly wasn't going to get it for the petals :)

It seems silly to have a second helm, and I'm not very serious
about playing on other shards. Selling may be the way to go.

Yup. I got the Leggings of Pimpatude (from the box) and the Ancient Hat of
Bling (from this email).
Pushed me to 70 resist in physical & fire. I gotta do some smithing this
weekend to work on the other resists)

The tapestry looks more like a postage stamp IMO. I'd be curious as to
whether anyone who chose this is happy with it?
My main character is a fighter and even I wouldn't touch the weapons. I'm
not an much of an archer so I don't need another Undead Slaying bow and I
figure that sword is pathetic compared to my Undead Slaying bronze katana
(love that paladin starting quest).

Hmmm. Can an entire suit be made out of this stuff?

Ancient Helm
Ember Leggings
Violet Courage
Pugilist Gloves
Shroud of Shadows (to cover up the unsightly mess)

I went for the leggings, and think they stack up well against the helm...my
barbed-runic armour has always come out light against fire damage, so I'm
impressed :)

It's a good investment, especially considering the 7ae items are officially
"semi-rare", now that the codes are no longer going out.

And the helmet always seems to be in demand whenever i wander near WBB or
Luna...

Oh, and if you make a meleer, you'll have the perfect helmet for them(thanks to
mine, 6 dci off my shield and 11 more off my bracelet, i was literally able to
wade through that horrid overspawn at the Yew prison, blocking almost every hit
i might have taken. Needless to say, i love dci)

~Cyrus~

(And you can always sell off the helmet to save towards a couple barbed kits.

My partner took the tapestry, and she seems happy... but she wouldn't want
to 'waste' a reward on weapons or armour anyway :)

I checked my emails and couldn't find any codes (I have 2 accounts). Are all
codes out?

After doing research a little more, it seems that I have to subscribe their
events and allow them to spam me in order to get the 7AE gift. I thought
just having an active account will get me the gifts. Well, maybe time to
cancel my accounts. I probably play less than 10 hours the past 12 months.
Waste $260 on the game and this is what they thanks me.

I didn't get any codes either. What do I have to do to get a code? What
event are you talking about?

I went to Stratics UO forum. They said we need go to uo.com and opt for
"allow EA to send event promotions and other advertisements to the
registered email address". Obviously, charging $12.99 a month is not enough
for Electronic Arts, you have to allow them to spam your email box.

I'm currently using:
Ancient Helm
A leather Gorget
Blue Dragon Chest
Verite Arms
White Dragon Gloves
Ember Leggings

Running at 70/70/44/59/43. Sadly non-medable.
The low points don't bother me too much since most stuff uses physical or
fire anyway.

I really would like one of those hooded shrouds to cover up the colours,
though. I look like a bloody christmas tree at the moment. I don't suppose
anyone has a spare one on Europa?

The date to opt in (just to get the reward) was the 24th of October so I
think it is too late now. They are doing a round of "catch-up" emails now
for the people who weren't initially opted in the first time. Yes, I
think it's lame - they could've just let every account holder log into
their account and get the codes that way.

Yes, that's it. I think you only need the top one selected although I
checked both. If it was like that before 10-24 you should get an email
with a 7AE gift code from them.

That is exactly the settings I chose, and worked fine for me.

There's been mention of an announcement, but I don't recall any.
What I remember is not having an email code when my friends were
receiving theirs. This is what caused me to check stratics where
I see that if you aren't _already_ opted in to get email, no code
for you, opt in and go wait a month.

There was a lengthy thread here about it too.

No, not complete. I was just curious about a clown suit made up
completely of the gifts and atifacts. Not a serious plan at all.

This brings up an interesting point though. You offer ewws and
eeks to anything below 51 resist. No comment on the fire at 51,
a full 19 below the cap. Is 50 the "acceptable" mark for armor
resists?

I don't worry about the actual values that much. Some of the pieces I
wear are for luck or just because they are self repair 5. I can do fine
against demons and dragons (4-5 blows usually not 2 as a paladin using
enemy of one, consecrate weapon and using a slaying weapon). I am hoping
that the male equivalent to Violet Courage is complementary to my other
armor whenever Leurocian gets around to adding it. Anyone hear when that
will be? I am getting sick of the harlequin colored ensemble though. I
hope they do add a dye tub of armor enamel so we can paint our armor a
more pleasing color. Either that or I'm going to shell out 400K for some
Umbra robes (the AOS shadow robe is too dark).

The Heart of the Lion MArty is supposed to appear in Pub28. Which will
hopefully show up very shortly after the SE launch because a lot of stuff is
broken that they say they have fixed in 28.

Oh and amen to the metal armor dye tub!

Thank you for contacting Electronic Arts Customer Support!

The codes for customers that have multiple UO accounts are being sent out

I hate to be the bearer of bad (Possible) news, but I do know that there
was a cutoff on the dates. If you started your account after that date,
which was months ago, then you don't qualify for the gift unless you buy the
7AE edition. That's the only thing I can think of.

If it is because of a cutoff, why did I receive a code last month on
9/25/04?

If you have only one account and you got an emailed code in September, that
is the only one you will get. The second round is for those who didn't
opt-in before the first cutoff date and people who had multiple accounts
linked to the same email address.
