Hi all i was w0ndering what pc to buy and how much it might cost me , can anyone pls recommend a rig for me i want to play them on 1680 res with 125 fps in Mw2.

i want to buy intel cpus and nvidia cards btw.

HOLY, 125FPS!? I play with 60-80fps on a 1920x1080 with two 4850's (512mb) in crossfire. I don't think my rig is overkill because I want a pleasurable experience while gaming but I think it may be more than other people would want. I think you can build one for around anywhere $800-1000 depending on what parts/brands.

Are you looking for a complete system that you will build, or a prebuilt machine?

125FPS is ridiculous. If your screen has a refresh rate of 60Hz anything over that is a waste. Turn on Vsync and it will hold that frequency.

Also, are you in the US or another country?

my budget is 1800 $ the 125fps is along story so if u could tell me how can i get it i would be grateful its not about how the game image looks.

oh and i want it from the motherboard to the end. not only gpu

1) is that $1800 US?
2) if not in the Us, where are you (many countries post to these forums)
3) why are you limiting yourself to intel CPU and Nvidia gpu? (if you are asking for advice you shouldn't be limiting your choices. BTW ATI new cards beat out all nvidia's offerings right now)
4) 125FPS is pointless. My guess is javascript:%20validform(this);you are trying to outdo a buddy. I've been there, dueling with a fellow gamer. But we are just saying, visually you won't see a difference. So the only reason could be bragging rights.
5) Are you planning to build yourself or are you looking for a prebuild?

Well fiirst of all with that budget you can build a monster that is capable of 250FPS, but it seems you have a misconception when it comes to FPS. After 50/60 FPS your eye will not be able to tell the difference. What you need is a system that can run the games that you play at 1680x1050 without any lag.

From what I understand MW2 uses the same DX9 engine that COD4 uses. My machine produces WELL over 125FPS, but its oddly gittery. I turn on vsync and it locks ate 60FPS and is smooth as butter. COD4 and i would assume MW2 isn't really a demanding title.

^^ yep, I get 75-80FPS with EVERYTHING maxed out including xAA . With vsync on it drops to 60FPS and it's smooth as butter as well.....

The funny thing is that many think that the more FPS the better, I even had an argument with someone here on Tom's saying that he gets 350+ frames on CS, he basically said that he can tell the difference from 100 to 200FPS.... People need to read and educate themselves before they go buy some crazy hardware to attain as many frames as possible....

Well you can (at least I can, in some games) tell the difference between 60 fps and 120 fps (ie Halo CE), but MW and MW2 aren't it.

Anyways if you got money to burn:
i7 920 WCed and OCed
ASUS P6T Deluxe v2
Intel X25M G2 (OS/Games)
1x 500GB Samsung F3 (Data)
2x ATI 5850s or 5870s or 5970s in CrossFire or nVidia GTX295 in SLI
Corsair 750HX or 1000HX
HAF 932

I guess we still need to know if the 1800.00$ is US or not.... If indeed it is US currency I would first opt for a large LCD, something like a 28" 1920 x 1200 and use the smaller screen to monitor hardware temps and so forth.... You can do wonders with a budget like that....

If it is not US currency then who knows.......

Man I should be able to jump like there is moon gravity! hehe. Wonder if that really works? I don't think there is to many times when I would say, "darn, I wish I could jump an inch higher".

its US currency looks like wh3resmycar is the only 1 that understands i don't want to go into an arguement trying to explain why 125 fps i just want somebody to tell me what parts are the best for this am thinking of GTX 275 Intel core 2 Quad cpu with 4 or 6 gigs raM.

am not sure about the fps if works in MW2 but i don't care even if i get 100 fps in it.

@OP: I DID give you the specs for the rig! And yes, I DO understand what you are trying to do.

lol kk i just forgot to mention u, anywayz ain't 2 Gtx295 in sli overkill for 1680 ? 1 is enough to max cod4 at 250 with most things on high, and i think it can handle mw2 in constant 125 can't it ?
