This is the Sound

So I've noticed that in some games/menus some games start to make this sound. It is usually heard when the Fps goes over 100. In dead by daylight it is only heard in the menu, only the sound is much quieter and different. I was wondering if it is coil whine or is it another problem. I mention it is a gtx 1080 ti 11gb msi aero. As a psu i have an Corsair cv650

Yea, its coil whine, but its normal, doesn't affect performance and GPU's health , and its also normal for the coil whine noise to increase when you put harder load on the GPU ( like benchmarking or a playing a more demanding game for example). Basically its noise is tied with GPU's usage %.
There are a few things you could try to lower the noise of coil whine:
- start limiting your FPS in games, lets say to match you monitors resolution, don't let it be unlimited.
- Try under-volting your GPU
- Another factor could be the PSU, if you can, swap your PSU to a diff unit, and see if there is still coil whine.
Coil whine is the result of high current flowing through wires on your GPU.
The higher the FPS, or the load, the harder the GPU needs to work, which means more current flows through the wires, and the coil whine is louder.
If it helps you, my Sapphire VEGA 56 also likes to whine when I play more demanding games, or pushing high fps in lets say CSGO or LoL :) .
