Colbert For President

In case you haven't been following Mr. Colbert recently last night he announced his run for president.

Stephen Colbert is transferring control of his super PAC to fellow Comedy Central host Jon Stewart, making it legal for him to explore a presidential run.

"I'm proud to announce I plan to form an exploratory committee to lay the groundwork for my candidacy in the United States of South Carolina," Colbert said during a Thursday night taping of his show, according to CNN.

As ABC News reports, Colbert proclaimed, "With your help and with possibly the help of some outside group that I am not coordinating with, we can explore taking this country back ... Thank you, God bless you, and God bless Citizens United."

You do know that Super PACs are outspending candidates 2 to 1. For the first time ever.

What I want to get across with these posts is how ridiculous PACs are.

Colbert and Stewart are making excellent examples of how crazy this actually is.

We live in a nation where someone (Colbert in this case) can setup a PAC and switch it over to his friend (Stewart) and that Super PAC can make ads supporting or denouncing an opponent.

He has no real plans to run for president but he now has all of this free money to screw around with in politics.
