College Gaming Laptop/ Ultrabook

Hey guys, I'm looking for a laptop around the 1000$ range.

Here are some of my preferred requirements.
-1080p resolution
-i7-i5 processor
-15.6" or less screen
-4-6+ hour battery life and/or ability to pop in an extended battery
-Able to play games like League of Legends on high-medium settings
-Will last at least 4 years
-Weight <5 lbs
-500 gb/ 1tb

I'm going off to college this fall and have been looking all over for laptops, I can't seem to decide on one. I'd like a laptop that is portable and practical for classes but one that I could also play games on during my down time, Thanks a lot

you aren't really going to play games with intel hd graphics and a 1080p screen. 1366x768 sure... 1920x1080 nope.

so you might as well add to that list a discrete gpu in the gtx860m-880m or radeon hd 8970m/8950m range... which makes the battery life a bit more problematic.

This one is a bit too big for me, what is your opinion on gigabyte laptops?

Gigabyte's a well known motherboard brand, thus, I would recommend. Brand to me though isn't important, shop by specs solely. From past experiences working at computer repair, there's no real pattern on what laptops come in for service the most.

those all meet your requirements... well... as close as possible anyway. No promises on battery life. I suspect it's probably closer to 3-4 hours on some of those... though most should last 5 or so when gaming. every single one of them is a little bit heavier then 5 pounds... but not one is 6... so it's close on weight. they're all 15"-16", not one over 16"... and every one will game many games in 1080p on medium settings just fine
