Ok as the title says my college does not have a public computer club. I say public because we do have a computer club however it is only for IT majors. I am a business major so I am not allowed to take part in the club. Have any of you guys been in college without a computer club? Whats the best way to meet up with people who enjoy computers? I hate talking to people about their stupid job, or how much life sucks. I want to talk to people about improving technology and do build projects ect.

Well, you can start your own computer club with approval of the school and they really can't say anything about it...otherwise you can file a discrimination suit against them. Just say you will file a suit and they will work towards fixing the issue more than likely.

I should probably go speak to the dean. I just hate that an educational system is disallowing me to pursue a passion. I have never joined a club while in college (im a junior now) so hopefully this will go well.

You can do what I do and just be open about it. I typically message classmates about their hobbies or ask if they are into computers and video games. So far 4-5 have taken the bait, I mean been open about it. Only one other person from those has any experience building computers and his machine is ancient, like from 2008-2009 which he says has been crapping out on him. I keep trying to persuade him to build another one but he says he doesn't have the money 🙁 The rest are all casual players who play on laptops or prebuilt systems.

LOL

Try it!!!!

I've found that usually math, computer science, chemistry, and physics classmates are more into video games than classmates from other subjects. Shoot, I showed an English professor two of my mechanical keyboards a couple of weeks ago after he said he typed a lot. Nobody in the class knew what a mechanical keyboard was (except for me). LOL The professor was impressed though, he said they reminded him of his old typewriters and old keyboards.
