I bought a printer (HP CP1525NW) off ebay listed under "for parts or not working" so I knew it might not work. All colors print fine except for the magenta. I've tried two known working magenta toners and it won't print a single dot of magenta with either of them. Tried printing a cleaning page too and that didn't help. Btw, when I print the cleaning supplies page just using that function from the LCD menus, the magenta doesn't print, so I know the problem has nothing to do with OS/driver. The only thing I can think of is a firmware update and if that doesn't work, then I all I have is a large b&w printer with unneeded cyan, yellow and magenta toners. If there's anything anyone can think of that an ordinary Joe can do to possibly troubleshoot this issue and get the magenta working, let me know!

I don't know when or if the drum has ever been replaced. If the black, cyan and yellow print perfectly, can the drum be defective?

I tried two different HP genuine magenta toners. Both work in another CP1525NW, but not in this unit.

I believe each toner cartridge comes with its own drum. So when I tried two different known working magenta toner cartridges, I was also in the process trying two different known working drums. Something else must be the problem then.
