Color saturation on external display

I'm having trouble with changing color saturation on my tv. I used to have a computer where I could adjust color saturation with nvidia control panel but I sold it and bought a notebook for college. I noticed that if I conected my notebook through it's mini-display port to a vga monitor, the intel graphics control panel allows me to change the color saturation, but If I use the hdmi port with my tv (hdmi to hdmi) on my notebook I can't. I'm using the native res of my tv (1920x1080 at 60hz).
Will a mini-display port to hdmi solve the issue?
My notebook is a zenbook 303ub with nvidia 940m gpu.

Use the TV controls to adjust the color saturation. Most TVs keep a separate configuration for each of the inputs. Just use the TV remote to turn down the color.

I can't, I get the following message: "This option is unavailable"

That is odd. I have never seen a TV have that behavior. Is the input configured as a "PC" some how in the TV setup ?

Yes, it says HDMI/DVI PC

Is there an option to change it from "PC"? That might allow you to change the color.
