Colors Washed Out !

Hi all..
Basically I have a GTX 760, AMD FX 8320 +plus good mobo and all other components obv^^ and the colors on my screen (especially in games) seem extremely washed out and there appears to be little contrast, I am using a DVI/(OR VGA.. not sure which one) to HDMI Cable as my monitor does not have a HDMI input. My friends machine who has a similar build has vibrant colors on all the games, as I have directly compared our screens in a LAN Party and there is a very notable difference. + I know it is not Monitor as I have tried his monitor too! Would be hugely appreciate any help in this matter! I

More than likely it is your converting cable. You may have a bit of a lower quality cable. Also it almost not use lose any sort of power when using converters. It is a bit like condensation. You have a glass of water, it burns up into steam. Then it converts itself back to water, some loss will be there. It will not be big are technically noticeable but it is there.

So how do you think I could fix this problem? so that my friends screen looks as good as mine?

1. Get a better quality converter
2. If your monitor has the DVI/VGA slot, use that instead

vga is an analog signal connection.... hdmi is digital.... hdmi can transfer lot of information compared to vga which includes picture detail... try your system with a hdmi monitor...
