Hey everyone,

I recently bought an ASUS TUF VG34VQL3A Curved Gaming Monitor (VA panel) based on positive reviews, but I’ve noticed some frustrating uniformity issues:
  • Yellowish vertical tint in the center (visible on white/gray screens).
  • Left side brighter than the right (like a gradient).

The issues don’t affect gaming/movies much, but they’re very obvious during work (coding, browsing).

My questions:
  1. Is this typical for VA panels, or did I lose the panel lottery?
  2. Anyone with the same monitor—do you see this too?
  3. Worth pursuing an ASUS warranty claim, or will replacements likely have the same flaws?
Extra context:
  • Tried different cables/ports/power outlets—no change.
  • No dead pixels or backlight bleed
Thanks in advance for any advice!

Based on this, I'd say that panel has luminance uniformity problems that are common to that model, but not common in general just because of it being a VA panel. VA panels tend to have very good luminance uniformity unlike a lot of IPS panels. I'm not sure they'd even allow a return to ASUS but maybe if you just bought it, it would be worth at least trying another one if you got it through Amazon or a similar retailer and are still within the return window.

Thank you for taking the time to respond—I really appreciate your insight! Your explanation about the panel’s uniformity issues being model-specific (rather than a general VA flaw) was super helpful. It’s disappointing to hear ASUS might not honor this, but your advice gives me a clearer path forward. I’ll see if I can push for a replacement through my retailer or just learn to live with it for gaming/movies.
