colour off on multiple monitors

my monitor colour has been off for some time. I have even hooked up other monitors with same problem. I have downloaded the windows 7 drivers and I have monkeyed with the monitor settings to no avail. I was told to look into getting a new video graphics card?? I have a Compaq desktop computer so am looking for suggestions please....

Even monitors of the same model can have slightly different colors. You just have to calibrate them to be similar. Only if you are having issues would changing hardware be a solution. A graphics card isn't going to affect color unless it's faulty in which case you'd have more serious issues like artifacting, not a color shift.
