colour profile

After reading "17 Inch Monitors with 16 and 20 ms: Part IV", I decided to buy the hyundai q17. Nice screen, but in the article they recommend downloading the colour profiles, copy them to C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\drivers\color and installing them. I did this, but they don’t seem to make any difference, the colours stay exactly the same. The only way that I can noticeably change my colours is by going to the colour tab of the ATI menu. Is it because I have an ATI radeon 8500? Do the ATI settings disable the windows profiles?

Stick with the monitor's default profile, it won't make any major difference in image quality.
