Hi all, having a PC problem where there screen is filled with red, green and blue bars upon boot. The issue even appears in the bios. I think it's hardware failure but I am having trouble nailing down the problem. I have tried swapping out the GPU, monitor and ram with some spares I had as well as a reformat and fresh windows 10 install but this only helped for a day before the problem returned.

Specs:
Windows 10
Seagate 2tb HDD
8gb Corsair DDR3 Ram
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660ti
Intel core i5 3570
Antec High Current Gamer 620W
Not 100% on the mobo but I think it's similar to an ASRock b75 pro3-m

Display
Notice the greenish or yellow colour between the l and i.
It's really tiring on the eyes.

Solution
ouch. That pretty much leaves the motherboard. Specifically, the pcie bus.

Since it comes and goes, hopefully it's something fixable, like dust on or near the socket.
Maybe your motherboard is warping a bit. try loosten all the screws and re-tighten them, gently. Could also be something like the weight of the cpu cooler

two posts? I only posted once. I don't have a screenshot since i can't see enough of the screen to actually navigate windows

" The issue even appears in the bios" - any problems in the bios are either sourced in the bios or are a hardware problem and can't be solved by "reformat and fresh windows "

" tried swapping out the GPU, monitor and ram" - the problem would be somewhere between the gpu and the monitor.
Most likely cases are:
1) faulty gpu
2) faulty monitor
3) loose cable or faulty cable.
4) interference
5) bad earthing (which will case interference)

Try moving the pc to a different location, using a different wall plug. There may be something causing some interference where your pc is currently sitting.

Can you take a picture with a phone or camera and post that?

Hey, thanks for the reply.
1. I have tried a 660ti that i know 100% works
2. I have tried a monitor that i know 100% works (using it now on a different pc)
3. Triple checked all cables, nada.
I tried moving it to another room. Same problem, also tried using hdmi instead of dvi just in case

Wierdly enough it has suddenly stopped doing it again, next time it acts up i will be sure to snag a photo.
