Yeah the title explains what I want to know. what is a com port header

It's a port for an old (VERY OLD) Serial communications standard, that I have not used for years, but some niche markets and legacy systems use. (RS232 or RS422)

That's fine. I have a COM port on all my ASRock motherboards too, it's just that I have nothing that would use it.
