com ports not working on new Gigabyte board

I am stumped. I installed a fresh copy of XP SP2 on a brand new hard drive on a Gigabyte AMD socket 939 board(nvidia 3 ultra chipset). I am running serial ATA and striped raid. Everythin works great except The com ports have a code 10 error and say they cannot start. I have tried changing Irq's(even though there was no conflict), tried deleting them completely and restarting, tried updating nvidia chipset drivers, updated bios, and still no luck. Any ideas??

Did you check in bios to make sure they are turned on?
