Hello to all.

I think that with the last changes the CoM is more balanced and funny
and they are very near to be a realy nomad race but they have a little
problem to arrive to this goal.

Their new economy are in the line of make a nomad race (Colonist on
ships) but actually they still needing a lot the ground bases for some
things like build fighters.

I think that the race could be the only real nomad of the cluster so
because of it, I would propose to add the CoM the three fighter
factorys.

This devices make the CoM fully independient of ground bases and are
so ussefull for them but this race have expensive fighters so it
dodn´t have the chance of "Trick" this devices to make a lot of
fighters. These devices only free the CoM of depending on the ground
bases and it goes in the line of making them be a nomadic race

So put this devices into expensive ships like the Aries or Virgo (I
prefer the Aries increasing it`s fighter bay size).

The fleet in the TV show was not 100% self sufficient. Several
episodes chronicled their efforts to secure fuel, food and other needs.

Additionally, the CoM economy has at least another 2, related, ties to
ground bases, both tied to the Celestia. To make money with a Celestia
(as a CoM player MUST do), they require large large populations. 1st,
and perhaps less important, the large populations allow the gambling
devices to make money. 2nd, a large planetary population is required
to generate large numbers of High Guard to allow the Pyramid Lounge to
make LOTS of money.

They are still very well suited to be Nomads. While they must use
planets for some of their needs, they can load up their Sags and Gems
at a moments notice, set the base to TNT and move on in a single turn
(leave behind a Taurus or Shuttle for the TNT). Nothing says "Nomad"
quite as much as being able to pick up and move at a moments notice.

The Ultimate nomads though are the Borg.

Most Borg drones don't leave home, they bring home with them.

Making CoM fully nomadic would be quite a boost strategically.
If they got ship based fighter factories they would have to lose planetory
ones.

They need a food to supply converter and all 3 fighter facts, to be a
true nomadic race. All four devices Tim feels they should not get. I
know one reason, he doesn't want to change the race pack. The other is
it along with the lack of base defense and a cheap mine sweeper is the
races weakness. To need bases and not to need bases. The reason for
bases is the Celestia + 10 cities makes more money with 1 million
colonist, then would be made by the same colonisths on a ship. 2 The
growth rate on a planet with happy more then 80 is higher. 3 You need
suppies and fighters. Last reason you need lots of HG, not for the
pyrimid loung (thats wishfull thinking) but for ships and the fighter
wings. To be honest because of the HG changes the pyrimid loung is no
longer as usefull as it once was and I would gladly give it up for
undercities or a fighter factory, which in the long run would be more
usefull. I would point out I do like the new changes to the CoM it
gives them a lot more opions early in the game and makes them a more
efficent race late in the game when it comes to moving people around
which is what I like most of all.

I don't remember right but what's then with the RP? The calculation for the COMs then has to be changed.
