Hello,

I just bought two 8 GB DDR3 1600 MHz 10-10-27 RAM sticks. I already have two 4 GB DDR3 1600 MHz 9-9-24 in my PC right now. I put my new sticks in my PC next to the others. My PC now says I have 24 GB of RAM total. So I thought it would all be fine.
However, I read about bottlenecks in RAM. Did my performance go down because I combined my 9-9-24 with 10-10-27? Should I remove my 9-9-24? I'm kind of a noob in this so I really don't know.

My mainbord is an ASRock z87 Pro3 which supports only dual channel.

Well, the ratings on the RAM are the maximum speed at those specific timings that the RAM will run at in a stable fashion. You can always run it SLOWER than the rated speed.

As long as your system booted, all ram was recognized, and it's playing nicely together, you're good. As for performance, you may have lost a stitch in the timings as the CAS9 ram probably downclocked to meet the CAS10 in the slightly slower RAM. Will you notice it? No. Just leave it and you'll be fine.
