Combining coputers for more power

Is it possible to connect 2 computers to each other for double performance? For example, I like to be able to bring my laptop with me during the day but when I get home I would like to hook it up to a more powerfull rigg. The reason why I wanna do this instead of just having two computers is because I prefer having my whole experience on one place instead of spreading it over several systems. Is this possible?

Not in a practical way. You can use your laptop as a terminal for another computer. Some laptops have expansion docs which may even have graphics cards. But the RAM and CPU you have is generally what you are stuck with.

Your post is a bit confusing, you want to connect two computers but then say you want to do this instead of just having two computers. But if you connect two computers, you have two computers, which you don't want to have.

What you can do is get a laptop with an external video dock (do some web searches there are a few models) then you can have a smaller lighter laptop for travel and a powerful video card at home for gaming.
