No, graphics cards dont add memory when used in the same system. In fact when using two different sized cards for the same task the larger memory would be limited to match the smaller card.
So you would still only have 4GB if you kept the 4GB card.

Ditch the old card, keep it for a spare or sell it, but dont keep it in the system after the upgrade.
