My comcast INTERNET quit working, every time I enter a web page it keeps redirecting to the comcast activation page, it doesn't matter what browser or OS.
https://activate.comcast.com/RoutingEngine/accountlookup.do
Problem started after I called comcast to get my bill lowered and the rep put me on a new promotion. Tech support isn't of much help other than they haft to look into the problem which could take up to 72 hours. Right now the only way I can get internet is to connect to xfinitywifi hot spot.
I've tried everything, reset modem, reset router, cleared browsing history, even boot a fresh copy of linux and the same.

I didn't get a new modem so it shouldn't need activated, alls I did was get on a new promotion to lower my bill.
Tho it could be at their end as not long after the internet problem one of my legacy DVR boxes keeps displaying one moment please with Code S0a00

Doesn't matter if you got a new modem or not - if they messed up your account when they switched you, your equipment is going to have issues. It's "calling home" to make sure you're not pirating the service, and for some reason, it thinks that you are now. You'll have to troubleshoot with them.

(Don't forget to ask for a statement credit for them wasting your time. Doesn't always work, but it's great when it does.)

Finally got everything working after two hours, apparently the internet and one of the boxes was deactivated and just needed reactivated at their end, also managed to get a $5 going two hours without internet.
