Comcast Compatable Modems

I just got Comcast 1 gig speed service, I want my own Modem/Router that will sit on a 1u shelve, any suggestions? Wireless not nessacery will be using ubiquity APs.

While something not approved may work, you are asking for trouble if you buy such.

Technically it shouldn't matter all DOCSIS 4.0 modems should support DOCSIS 3.0 and 3.1 but Comcast likes to make things difficult and only recognized certain ranges of firmware depending on what plan and where you are at. Buying one of their recommended modems is the only safe bet to get something that will work like it's supposed to in your area.
