Comcast Refuses to Service Me

So I moved in with my girlfriend in March of 2014. Last time she had Comcast was the end of 2013. Since then shes been using Verizon DSL. We live in an apt complex in which we only have those two choices.

Anyway, I tried to get service from comcast when I moved in because DSL is very slow for my purposes. They won't give me service because they said my girlfriend owes them money and they're saying since I live there, I don't get to have comcast until she pays them back. I personally think that this is a load of crap and comcast needs to go bankrupt for all the nonsense they do but I also like to watch a youtube video without buffering for 20 minutes. So is there some secret way around this rule so that I can get comcasts service?

Why would I pay money that I don't owe? I'm trying to convince them that I'm not responsible for the outstanding account but I don't know how to prove it.

What do you think it will be like if you get married? The dept wont just go away. If you love her pay the bill and be happy. If not move out and take care of your own shit.

Doesn't matter. There is an outstanding debt, owed by a person that still resides there.

DSL is so painful these days, and 3 Mbps is not even a broadband connection.
