Comments and advice for my first gaming computer build

Hey guys! This is my first post in the forums and I am looking for comments, advice and opinions about my first gaming PC that I am going to build. All comments and advice are highly appreciated.

Here are my components:

mobo: either ASUS P8Z77-V LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard-$184.99 or ASUS P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3 ATX Intel Motherboard with UEFI BIOS-$199.99 (if you know of a better mobo dont hesitate to recommend me -same price range please..$150-$240)

cd rom: LITE-ON Black Internal 12X Blu-ray Combo SATA Model ihes112-04 - OEM -$59.99

CPU: Intel Core i5-2500K Sandy Bridge 3.3GHz (3.7GHz Turbo Boost) LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 3000 BX80623I52500K -$204.99

Memory : G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-8GBRL(im buying two of these) - $93.98 or $46.99 each

Power Supply: CORSAIR Enthusiast Series CMPSU-650TX 650W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Compatible with Core i7 Power Supply - $109.99 ( I haven't yet added all the power i will need but im positive i have more than enough)

GPU: EVGA 01G-P3-1460-KR GeForce GTX 560 (Fermi) 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card - $189.99 ( again, if anyone knows of a better card within the same price range please do tell me! max is $250)

HDD: Seagate Barracuda ST31000524AS 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive - $99.99

case: Corsair Special Edition White Graphite Series 600T Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - $169.99

I also want to stay on a $1,000 or less total not including taxes and shipping unless you think it really is worth it to go the extra couple bucks.. I am new to the PC building world so if anyone spots that any or my components isnt compatible with another please tell me.

If you think one of my items really isn't needed to be that expensive( i am good with a cheaper one etc..) please tell me. also, if you think i should get anything better than what i have selected please do tell me.

ps... I am aware that my total is about $1,173 but i am not counting the case which would bring me down to $103 and thats fine with me. I am willing to spend up to $1,200 not including the case.
