Hello,

I'm thinking about building my first desktop and I made this build:

CPU: Intel Core i7-7700K
GPU: Asus ROG Strix GeForce GTX 1070 8GB OC
MBD: Asus ROG Strix Z270F Gaming
RAM: G.SKILL Trident Z RGB 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4-3000MHz CL15
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7200RPM 64MB SATA III
SSD: Samsung 960 Evo 250GB TLC NVMe
PSU: Nox Hummer GD650W (80+ Gold)
COOLER: Cooler Master MasterLiquid 120 Lite
CASE: Corsair Carbide 270R

I need opinions about this build. The computer will be used mainly for programming and gaming.
Some questions I have:

1. Is it worth to spend the extra 200€ to get GTX 1070 instead of GTX 1060?

2. I read (http://) that i7-7700K supports DDR4-2133/2400, DDR3L-1333/1600 @ 1.35V but I also saw builds with that CPU with 3000MHz memory (the same speed I'm using on my build) so is it compatible or do I need to get a lower speed memory?

3. Is a 650W enough for this build?

4. Is the cooler good enough? I read that the i7-7700K tends to be a bit warm and that is like the cheapest water cooling I found on the website that I'll probably buy the components.

I didn't include fans because that case includes 2, but I plan to buy more and better later, if I need.

Solution
Agreed with above.

But to answer your questions:

1. Depends what Resolution you are playing, for 1080p 60 Hz a GTX 1060 6GB is a fine choice unless you want to give yourself an extra lead. Otherwise grab a GTX 1080 like Mike suggested above.

2. Yes, using an XMP Profile the RAM will be fine provided the Motherboard supports 3000 MHz. The one you included most certainly does as would most modern boards these days anyway (at least up to 3000-3400 MHz).

3. Yes. Even with a GTX 1080 although i have never heard of the brand so as long as you're sure it's good quality/reliable.

4. If you're not Overclocking it'll be fine. But i'd consider a mid-high end Air Cooler around the same price instead if possible. Cheap/Small liquid coolers...

Cheap/Small liquid coolers typically only match them if not do worse than a good air cooler around the same price range. I talk as someone who has used Coolermaster 120mm rads before. Look for something Noctua or the Cryorig M5/M7 if you can.

Hope this helps :)
