This is my first pc build. I have done an extremely large amount of strenuous research, so I picked things for a reason.

CPU: I went with the AMD fx-8350. Don't argue, this was my decision. I'm not a fanboy, this is just the best CPU under $200 that fitted my needs (heavy multimedia creation and gaming on relatively high settings)

GPU: The r9 390 is a great card that seems to do better than the gtx 970 in almost all of the triple-A games I play, and the 8gb of v-ram leaves room for future games that utilize more video ram, and also a 512-bit bus, too

Case: The corsair carbide spec-03 isn't on pcpartpicker.com, but that's the case I am going with. Great quality at $80 with a side panel widow and none of the blingy and tacky crap other cases in this price point offer to compensate their lack of quality.

PSU: Rosewill ARC-M650. Better than the corsair cx series, and leaves headroom for oveclocking. No coil whining capacitors

RAM: g.skill ripjaws x series 1866 (8gb), the only item I actually own, since I was able to get a brand new 4gbx2 set from a friend for $10, since he got them for free somehow.

Storage: Hybrid drive (for now)

Peripherals: 27" HDTV as monitor (for now) and cheap keyboard and mouse (both will be upgraded soon)

Let me know what you think. Don't tell me to go with Intel, I made up my mind about that.

If budget wasn't an issue, I would go with the supernova G2. The XFX is non-modular, which is a total turn-off. I don't have $90 to spend on a PSU, since I am already wayyy over budget with this build. If I ever decide to crossfire two 390's (maybe in a year or two), I would need to upgrade to an 850w or better PSU, so I don't need to be the life span or quality to be a factor, since I would only need it for a year or so. I can't drop $100+ on an 850w PSU right now, so that will wait until I actually NEED an 850w power supply.

That's with a $20 MIR that usually are just a scam... but I guess I could let a little more room in my budget for an 850w. Since I would end up upgrading it soon anyways, it would spend more money in the long run if I get a cheaper one now.
