I realize that the name and form factor may be nostalgic to some, but for me - someone born after the Cold War - it doesn't really mean anything to me.

For a small factor PC, I'd rather have it separated from the keyboard.

Whoa man! I'm tripping out from this epic nostalgia hit. That was a great game - too bad I just sucked at it.

If you really want to relive C64 nostalgia, check out:
http://www.c64forever.com/

Their Amiga Forever package is also top notch.

I would seriously love this if like its original the price is below 300usd at the release and if they ship it with morphos or amigOS.
I would like it even more if they dropped in a PPC CPU give it a wireless connection to my TV and made run native 180p. While we are at it it should come loaded with a sh*tload of commodore 64/Amiga emulators programs and games and it should be open enough to be developed for by the current Amiga/Morphos/Pegasos scene.

Maybe i should stick to my pegasos desktop.

1TB? This got to be a joke!!!
Especially since Atari did not develop more than a few hundred applications for their computer, and most of them fit on a 720kB floppy disk!
In other words, providing the Atari with a 4GB USB stick as memory would have been more than enough!

So basically it's a worthless PC with a non-standard keyboard. Is it at least loaded with C64 software and emulator, because that's what people want.

I also liked BC's Quest for Tires, Raid Over Moscow, and Mail Order Monsters among many others.

Dont you guys get it? This is pure nostalgia and thats it. Companys realize people growing up during the 80's and 90's are now at the point where they are willing to pay way to much for a piece of nostalgia. Why do you think almost every new major movie out there is a remake. Because they know how to mess with your head and emotions. God forbid that a company try to make something new... no that would take R and D and employees. Lets just slap a new lable on something old and say its new, we will make a boat load. Now if only with could some how associate it with Jesus Will will be millionares.

Very cool - It will almost certainly be bundled with Win7, not running a modern version of the Commodore OS. It's simply another take on the Eee-Keyboard for those willing to pay more for the nostalgia.

The Keyboard PC form factor cold be a winner, the same power as a nettop with more flexibility than an all-in-one.

My first computer was a Commodore 64 and I still remember spending hours typing in code so that I could play a simple game. I may have to buy one of these just because.

Actually, I liked the newer, white version of the C64 better. I think it was called the 64C and had a matching external floppy drive. Do you think they'll offer a floppy drive for this thing? And really, if they're gonna go all out retro, they might as well add a matching monitor too! But I think what another poster said is true - it's the software that made the Commodore. If they don't build the C64 OS and a bunch of original games into it, it's pretty pointless. I can think of way cooler looking old machines to run Win7 on.

They NEED to remake Workbench (I know they have done some stuff recently).. that was what made it all happen. The WHOLE machine was the experience. Just buying an Atom that looks like C64 is just a little corny... but suite yourself.

[citation][nom]greghome[/nom]how does my quote make me a fan boy? fan boy of what?[/citation]
I think he misused the word "fan boy". He actually meant "troll". As in, your introduction of the word "Apple" in a totally unrelated article makes you a troll.

All Apple fanboys are trolls, but not all trolls are Apple fanboys. In a Venn diagram, you would be right in the middle.

The PC64 isn't mentioning if it includes a C64 emulator. Which you can download for free (Includes C=128, +4, VIC20 and others).

Going to the Commodore site... its very amateur. Not sure how legit they are.
It doesn't take much to make a site function and look pro... especially if they had the funds to purchase trademarks as they don't seem to own any actual Commodore technology rights (what is the value of 30 year old technology?)

Hell, people have bought one of those JOY-STICK game conoles (you know, play actual Arcade or Atari 2600 games on your TV for $15) with C=64 games on it, took it apart, attached a keyboard to it, and manage to turn the SOC 2" square thingy into a somewhat functional C=64 computer.

Then again, my MAC emulator for my Amiga was only 80k. 😉
