Anyone know anything about CNR(Communications Networking Riser)? Also does anyone know where to get CNR products?

You can get CNR/AMR products on Pricewatch. Basically, there is supposed to be a whole line of products, including modems, soundcards, and network cards, but all I ever see is modems. CNR devices do not have any real hardware on them, they simply contain an interface. A CNR modem is a 100% software modem that totally relies on the processor, and is basically the same as those cheap onboard modems. An AMR soundcard would be the same way-just an interface, same as cheap onboard stuff.
Funny thing is that CNR is made to be inexpensive, but at around $15 for a CNR modem, you could actually find a REAL modem at that price (like the Lucent modem-good deal BTW). The only reason to use a CNR modem is if your motherboard is running out of PCI slots and you have an empty CNR slot.
