I just upgraded to a gtx 970 recently and while after 5-10 minutes of playing games, my screen goes black and crashes.

I ran a Performance Test, and as soon as it gets to 3D testing,
my computer crashes again.
Anyone have an idea what could be causing this issue?

I downloaded CPUID HWMonitor,
but to be completely honest I have no idea what I am looking out for.
Nothing is overclocked and everything is up to date.

Graphics card: Asus Strix GTX 970 OC edition
PSU: 750w (given to me by gf's brother, have no idea how old it is )
CPU: Intel i5-4670k
Mobo: z97-g43 gaming edition
RAM: 2x4 GB ( 8 total )

Solution

That's obviously the cheaper equivelant of the AX860i.....NEVER HEARD OF IT!

Get a decent PSU mate. Can't stress it enough. Too many people on this site use nasty, generic PSUs that are a fire hazard. Replace it with an EVGA G2 SuperNova 750w or Corsair RM750.

So I'd suggest uninstalling your drivers and reinstalling the latest drivers from Nvidia. You're lucky your GPU hasn't been fried.

The screen goes black, but I still hear the game.
When I try to click Num Lock or Caps lock it usually doesn't work.
It's a CP 750w Combat Power

My girlfriends brother was a gamer too. Didn't really think twice about the PSU being a dud.
Will do and buy another one. Thanks for the help.
